Metro Health Village has been certified as LEED projects by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Village will be one of the first campuses in the nation possessing this certification. Metro Health Hospital is actively seeking the same certification and their architectural team has plans including a rooftop greenspace where views from the majority of patient rooms will overlook this 'garden in the sky'.

What does LEED certification mean?

It means:

The goal of the Granger Group in requiring LEED certification in building is not only to preserve the environment and increase building performance but also to educate and bring awareness to green building principles. Projects such as Metro Health Village are important forward steps in the evolution of the nation's architectural and land development disciplines.

Single-tenant building participants must achieve LEED for New Construction (LEED-NC) certification. LEED-NC is structured to allow each tenant the choice of which credits to pursue to increase the performance of their building while achieving the required number of credit points. Tenants entering into agreements to lease in multi-tenant buildings developed by The Granger Group receive the benefit of the developer having paid for the majority of costs (design, material and documentation) associated with LEED certification. Additional items that are required during the tenant build-out phase are the responsibility of the tenant but the cost is recouped in energy cost savings.
